Abstract
The authors made a brief review of vortex methods for fuel combustion stabilizing in gas turbine engines, power plants and thermo-technical installations etc. Vortex stabilization of natural gas combustion in the flow while vortex generators application in the form of semispherical, single and double diffusor cavities was studied. Stable combustion was succeeded to be obtained in all types of the vortex generators under study while fuel feeding to the recesses. Combustion efficiency at the single recess diffuser and semi spherical recess employing are almost the same. The best combustion stabilization was obtained with the double cavity diffusor recess application. Stable combustion is ensured with the injection parameter of m ≈ 2. The rational place for the gas injection is in the pole part of the recess. The obtained results are applicable for designing flat combustion chambers of heat-technological installations, such as furnaces for drying bulk materials, heating of working gaseous media, etc., which ensure heating of the equipment walls due to the fuel combustion.<
